    • CHRISTENING: Øster Brønderslev parish FHL film #49,089 p.14. Father is
      listed as Jens Christian Nielsen. To further prove that Johanne's father was
      Jens Christian Sorensen consider the following facts:
      I) Marianne Nielsdatter of Abildgaard (aunt to Johanne) was a witness at
      the christening.
      II) Abilgaard was the residence of Jens Christian Sorensen and his parents,
      brothers and sisters.
      III) Several times the priest does not record Jens Christian Sorensen
      (father of Johanne) last name, as indicated in the marriage record of
      Jens and Else Jensdatter, where he is listed only as Jens Christian
      with no last name. The burial of Johanne also list her father as Jens
      Christian, again no last name!
      IV) The priest probally used the name NIELSEN, because it was the last
      name of Jens's step-sisters (one being Marianne - witness at the
      christening).
