    • Robertus de Lavedre, whom Playfair’s British Antiquity states was a soldier of the Cross in 1188, he having accompanied David Earl of Huntingdon, brother of King William the Lion, to the Holy Land in the Third Crusade. As an emblem of his presence in Palestine he got for his crest a Saracen’s head on a sword.
